Meet the Founder
I’m Heather Blanco and I grew up right here in South Louisiana. After graduating from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a degree in Mass Communications, I spent 20 years in Hawaii and California. My professional opportunities detoured into accounting and corporate real estate management. As a regional manager I discovered I had a hidden skill: creatively writing job listings. The new listings helped the company find, hire and train high-quality employees we would have never connected with otherwise.
Over the course of my life, key job opportunities defined who I met and how I grew as a person. The great ones carried me through various personal chapters. The structure and flexibility within the Atlas Boards platform is rooted in my own life experiences, career trajectories, parenthood, entrepreneurship and the perspective of living in different states.
Acadiana is moving in a new direction and I’m excited to bring businesses and workers together. My promise is to ensure Atlas Boards maintains a high-integrity, human-managed reputation to strengthen local connections.

Why a job board
As a hiring manager, I needed local maintenance workers but online-only job listings were not reaching them. That sparked an idea to build the job board I needed, one that helps businesses find high-quality local workers offline.
Atlas Boards is a unique hybrid idea. A job listing appears on our website, local social media, and on physical boards where residents live and shop. Think of it as the old community bulletin board – modernized.
