Requirements

• Related experience, training, and/or education
• ASE certification
• Knowledge of disc, drum, and electronic/hydraulic brake systems
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools
• Valid driver’s license (road tests)
• Able to lift heavy parts

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles for wear, damage, and leaks
• Replace worn brake pads and shoes, and resurface or replace rotors and drums
• Repair or replace calipers, wheel cylinders, and master cylinders
• Flush and refill brake fluid, and bleed air from the lines
• Check and repair anti-lock brakes (ABS), stability control, and traction control parts
• Routine service as engine, suspension, tires, and oil changes need your input
• Road test the vehicle and check it with gauges before returning it to the customer
