Job Description

Pay

  • $22.00–$28.00/hour
  • $100/week per diem (living allowance)
  • Final pay may vary by location, skills, and experience

Requirements

  • 1–3+ years of experience, training, and/or education in solar energy construction
  • Proficient in Autodesk Construction Cloud and iPad apps
  • Attention to detail, and clear written communication for detailed reporting
  • Collect and analyze data
  • Travel to project various sites
  • Pass a physical exam, if required
  • Can wear a respirator and other protective gear when required
  • Physical demands:
    • Climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs while keeping your balance
    • Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
    • Work at heights and in tight spaces, such as towers or excavations
    • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs (use help for heavier loads)
    • Stand or walk for long stretches on uneven ground (dirt, mud, gravel, concrete, asphalt)
  • Work conditions:
    • Mostly outdoors at industrial construction sites or fabrication shops
    • Heat, cold, humidity, and rain
    • Loud noise
    • Possible chemical exposure

Responsibilities

  • Inspect solar tracker installations on site and check them against safety and quality standards
  • Record problems
  • Build punch lists on an iPad using Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Rank punch list items by how much they affect the project, and work with the team for solutions
  • Collect installation data and note any trends or problems
  • Keep inspection records and punch lists organized and easy to find
  • Report safety concerns or incidents right away, and follow all safety rules

  • Experience in renewable energy, especially solar tracker systems
  • Basic knowledge of construction standards for solar tracker installation
